TREO fleeces town governments for funding then produces little results. Its head, Joe Snell, earns more than $300,000 for doing "absolutely nothing". What a great job Joe has.  Lots of money, all of which comes from local governments. No benchmark results for which to be held accountable.

Its not just us that thinks this. Read an analysis of TREO by "Wake Up Tucson's" Higgens and DeSimone.

Nothing will change in terms of service and area coverage for the ADA-elegible riders and Senior Citizens from now through June of 2013.
All bets are off after that date as to who will operate the service and how it will operate.
There is a fee schedule based on travel zones.  Fees are less if you are ADA-eligible.

Why not have 70? Why not have 120?

Chief Sharp justifies the number of officers on the force by using a ratio of "Police to Population" of 2.5 per 1,000. Based on his numbers, Oro Valley would have 103 officers. So, I guess from his viewpoint, he's doing a simply great job of keeping it to 97. Why he's six positions short.

This was recommended by the town's Planning and Zoning Commission. To quote the article:Commissioner Don Cox initiated the amendment after talking with local businesses about current codes.

Chief Sharp's "Know Your Oro Valley Police Department Budget" alleges that the Department has reduced its headcount by a bit over 13 equivalent full time positions.

So, I tested his numbers. Rather, than a decrease, I found a net increase of 5 employees from 2009 through April of 2011:

Total Added Employees: 26
Total Reduced Employees: 21
Net Added Employees: 5
